Introducing October’s MOMtrepreneur. A Mother, A Blogger And A Holistic Nutritionist.
Every month that goes by I am both amazed with how fast time goes and excited because it means I am one month closer to being a mom of two! October’s MOMtrepreneur is also a mom of two, a 2.5 year old and a 7 week old. If being a mom of two wasn’t hard enough she is also a Holistic Nutritionist and a fellow Blogger. She is on a journey of wellness and motherhood, and after getting to know her a bit better I can tell you her journey is an amazingly successful one.

Today’s feature of Lacy from Living with Lacy is an inspirational one. She is someone that all of us must get to know! She as a Holistic Nutritionist focuses on preventative measures to make sure that we feel better! Because as she says when you feel better, you look and perform better. Now I would like to introduce all of you to Lacy –
Hi All! I’m so excited to be featured as Julia’s MOMtrepreneur, something I never imagined I would be. How did I get to where I am today? Well, I started following the societal rat race that takes place; go to college (get a degree or two), take on a corporate job, then (hopefully) juggle a demanding position, raise kind humans, maintain your health, all while staying effortlessly married to the man of your dreams.
Sounds easy, right? Hell no! It sounds stressful. And stress is one of the most taxing factors on our health. So what did I do?
I started by completing college and attaining a degree that I don’t use. In fact I returned a couple times to receive additional degrees that, guess what? I still don’t use. (This was before I witnessed how the rat race affected people.)
After college, I worked as a paralegal, and completed training for the Army (National Guard). Soon after my return from Army Advanced Individual Training (AIT), we found out I was pregnant with our first daughter. I contemplated going back to work as a paralegal, but deep down I knew that I didn’t want to sit at a desk 50+ hours a week. It wasn’t healthy, for myself, my future child(ren) or my marriage.
This is when I decided to start my global wellness business. I was introduced to a science that was irrefutable, think peer reviewed studies by Harvard, Mayo Clinic and LSU, along with seven patents! When I realized what I had my hands on I knew I had to share it with everyone I knew. Because if I didn’t, and someone could have benefitted, then how could I live with myself?
Not long after I learned about this breakthrough in science, it encouraged me to want to learn more about wellness. This would allow me to be proactive with mine and my family’s health and overall wellness. I became a Holistic Nutritionist.
Now I am able to educate others about how they can improve their health, because what is more important than our health? If we don’t have health, we don’t have anything. Without it, we can’t enjoy and make memories with our family, nor can we take part in activities with our kids. I also wanted to set an example for my kids. At the time, my husband, who was, and still is in good shape (weight and exercise), had high cholesterol. Since becoming more knowledgable about nutrition and implementing changes among our lifestyle, his cholesterol has dropped about 100 points.
If I didn’t have enough on my plate, while pregnant and preparing for baby number two, I enrolled and completed the Forks Over Knives plant based cooking course. My family and I are plant based, and yes, it does take time and effort, but for us it works.
Fast forward, we now have a 2.5 year old daughter (our first), and a 7 WEEK old daughter (our second). I continue to educate people about nutrigenomics and nutrition, and I also manage a lifestyle blog – Living with Lacy.
My goal is to build my own army that shares the power of nutrigenomics with others. For quite some time my independent personality did not want to accept this way of thinking, as I thought I could do it all on my own. However, I am only one person. I realized that working with a team of positive individuals, not only inspires others, but influences them to improve their health. Together we can contribute to the overall wellness of our community, wherever that may be, and whoever that may consist of.
As our family makes the adjustment from three to four, my hope is to find a finer balance with the girls, so that I continue to provide valuable content on my lifestyle site. The primary focus is to provide health and wellness tips, however I include lifestyle wisdom regarding home renovations, fitness, motherhood and miscellaneous topics, such as living in Nevada, my home birth story, and most recently discussing the fire devastation that took place in Northern California.
It is a fluke that both girls are sleeping as I write this. My 2.5 year old is undergoing a schedule change (not my choice) that includes discontinuing her afternoon nap… No! Yet as I witness my girls sleeping peacefully, they remind me why I chose the route I did. I am blessed with the ability to stay home with my family, set my own schedule, while contributing to a positive change through health and wellness.
I’d love for you to join me through my journey of wellness and motherhood, and if you are interested in ways you can better your wellness feel free to reach out to me direct. Here are a few ways to find me.
