In the middle of editing my blog post last week I had my final ultrasound appointment. During that doctor’s appointment I received news that my amniotic fluid was dangerously low. While I contemplated what to do next my doctor had different plans. She advised me that I was going straight to the hospital to deliver baby Parker!
So much rushes through your head when you need to go to the hospital asap. I was thinking – but I have to work; I have to finish my blog post; will Austin make it home in time to take me; will my mother in law make it in time to watch Morgan? So many things to consider, so many things that might or might not have mattered given the dire situation.
The one thing that truly mattered however was the fact that the day after I was sent to the hospital I gave birth to a healthy baby boy!
Parker Montgomery Burge entered the world on 11-7-2017 at 7:11pm! If that’s not a sign of lucky things to come I don’t know what is. In fact lately a lot of lucky things have been happening. My blog has been getting a lot more notice; Austin and I might actually be making headway with finally finding a home; and my co-worker Berlyn approached me with an opportunity I just couldn’t refuse.
Berlyn and I work for the same large Fortune 10 company. Although, we both love our careers, our passions are with our families. She is a mom on a mission as am I, we both want the very best for our growing families. I saw that Berlyn was well on her way to fulfilling her financial goals, and I wanted to know her secret! She was more than kind enough to share it with me. Now that I have her secret I’m going to share it with all of you!
Every month that goes by I am both amazed with how fast time goes and excited because it means I am one month closer to being a mom of two! October’s MOMtrepreneur is also a mom of two, a 2.5 year old and a 7 week old. If being a mom of two wasn’t hard enough she is also a Holistic Nutritionist and a fellow Blogger. She is on a journey of wellness and motherhood, and after getting to know her a bit better I can tell you her journey is an amazingly successful one.

In the middle of March I wrote a super successful post about the history and origin of St. Patrick’s day. I wanted to research it because honestly I didn’t know anything about it. Yet I was dressing Morgan in green head to toe! That post ended up launching a series of posts after I received multiple comments to create a post for each holiday. I will have to explain each holiday to Morgan anyway. What a better way than to actually learn the facts behind them. You can read all of the past posts below:
I learned so much from doing these posts, and I found that I really enjoyed researching and writing them. Today I will be sharing with you How To Explain The Spirit Of Halloween To Your Toddler. Because so many countries and cultures have their own Halloween/All Saints Day celebrations I focused on how we celebrate Halloween here in the United States.
I would once again like to thank my wonderful friend Google. As always Google was able to steer me in so many fascinating directions while researching this history. Prior to my research I had no idea why we would dress is costumes, carve pumpkins or say trick or treat on Halloween. I hope you truly learn as much as I did.
I started hearing about the concept of Meal Planning a few years ago. Back then however it came from my extremely fit and active friends. Today Meal Planning at least in my circle has been coming more and more from my mommy friends. You see as I have discovered Meal Planning is not only a key to weight loss and/or a balance lifestyle; but it is also a key tool for efficiency and household money management.
If there is one luxury that I was always willing to spend money on it was food. Austin and I before Morgan loved to eat well – very well! We dined at the finest restaurants in Los Angeles and on our travels. And we made sure that we used the best ingredients when we cooked at home. When Morgan arrived we didn’t skimp on the ingredients in fact they became almost exclusively organic and natural. However we did cut back drastically on going out. You would think that would have meant that we were saving more. In fact the opposite happened. Because I was cooking more we were spending more. Our monthly grocery bill was soon becoming outrageous.
After a few months in denial, thinking it was just the increase in prices. I slowly started to realize that my additional spending was attributed to not having a plan! This is when Meal Planning entered the picture. Once I started Meal Planning I was able to drastically reduce my weekly grocery bill from roughly $160-$170 per week for a family of three to $100-110 a week. Today I am going to review with you 9 of the best Meal Planning tricks that I have learned along the way that has saved me on average $240 a month or $2880 a year!!!
I was so honored and humbled when I checked my comments this morning. I have been nominated for a Blogger Recognition Award from a fellow mommy blogger! Thank you so much Taylor from Simple Living Nursing Mama for nominating me! She has an awesome blog that I have been glued to all day! Taylor is a wife, mother, nurse and new blogger! Her Simple Living and Motherhood post is one of my favorites, because it ends in the most poignant way – Choose Joy! It just instantly made me happy and overcome with emotion, because us busy mom’s sometimes forget how to just be happy and slow down.

As I’m now well into my third trimester I have noticed that I am becoming more and more uncomfortable. Sitting, standing, driving and sleeping all have their downsides. I don’t remember being this uncomfortable when I was pregnant with Morgan, but maybe that’s part of the whole after birth amnesia that people tell you about. Not remembering how much it hurts etc! Although I can assure you I still remember ever second of labor and birth and for some crazy reason I decided to do it all over again. Is it too late to turn back?
If Parker arrives early just like Morgan did then I only have three weeks to go! If he decides to cook until he’s full term I have 6 more weeks of discomfort. I don’t know which option I’m hoping for more, longer pregnancy or shorter discomfort?
I knew that in order to make these last few weeks the best that they can be that I would need to turn to my trusted friend Amazon for some ideas. Needless to say I went a little order happy but the items I found have really made a huge difference! I’m hoping that if you are pregnant (any trimester) that these products will work as well for you as they have been for me. Here they are:
For today’s post I am resurrecting a past one that I written regarding the Administrative Side of Giving Birth. We have so many decisions to make right after giving birth, and so many people to contact regarding maternity leave. The last thing you want to do is stress about that fact that you can’t find your leave of absence coordinators number or your bosses number for that matter.
I am currently about to embark on this journey once again as Parker’s due date is now only 7 weeks away. I was actually very thankful that I wrote all of this down since my mommy brain couldn’t remember everything I put together last time around. Hope you find it as useful as I do!
This is a sponsored post. I sometimes receive products and/or services compliments of various companies. I however will only recommend products that I love and that I know my readers will love too. I was in no way required to write a positive review. The opinions shared below are completely my own.

Just like Spring I believe that Fall is a time for new beginnings. In the Fall leaves change colors and fall from the trees, birds and butterflies migrate South for the upcoming Winter months and I personally am in the mood to purge and organize. The Fall inspires me to review my belongings, have fun garage sales and give that eBay account a boost in sales. That is why I am so very happy to share with all of you the latest book that has ignited that spark. It is called “Organizing for Your Lifestyle: Adaptable Inspirations from Socks to Suitcases” by Jane Stoller.
Jane’s style of writing is so inviting. The entire book can be read in just an afternoon, not because it is lacking content but because you can’t wait to see what bright idea she throws at you next. The book begins with Jane’s mantra, “organizing is a lifestyle, but it needs to be your lifestyle”. This is so true, so many times other organization books try to alter your mindset completely, which does not work for everyone. Jane’s alternative to a one size fits all approach is to make sure that her reader is comfortable with the changes they are making so that they will continue to live an organized life long after reading and implementing the techniques in her book.
It occurred to me a few weeks ago that my readers might not know my motivation behind starting Organizing Motherhood. So what a better way to officially introduce myself than to become my own Featured MOMtrepreneur!

When I had Morgan almost two years ago the amount of stuff that we needed seemed overwhelming. However now that I am almost due with Parker, I was struggling to think of what we could possibly need. It’s funny how with the second baby you realize that most of the gizmos and fancy baby items are not at all useful. For example, why did we need a wipes warmer. I still can’t figure that one out. I used it just a few times and then realized it was more of a hassle then it was worth. In fact it never really kept the wipes that warm and instead was just another power sucker!
In today’s post I am going to share with you 3 Of The Best Products For Your Second Baby. These are the items that I will most definitely be using with my new little bundle of joy.
